The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
(The Friendship Edition)

Walt Disney Video
Format: DVD
Ages: 2 and up

I’m a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh! If you have young children, I urge you to introduce them to A.A. Milne’s classic stories through both the Winnie the Pooh books and this charming collection of short movies. The 3 feature movies on this DVD areThe Honey TreeThe Blustery Day, and Tigger Too. This particular version also comes with the extra, A Day For Eeyore. The stories, which remain quite loyal to Milne’s original material, are delightful and filled with humor, both outright and subtle (which older children and grown-ups will appreciate) – there are some lines that are downright hilarious and have become classic lines in our household. At the same time, the stories contain gentle, but important messages about friendship, generosity and sensitivity. They stand the test of time beautifully, and I have never met a child who got tired of watching them. Even older siblings will be glad to have an excuse to indulge in them with the younger ones. This is a must for every family’s DVD collection.
